No escape from Sauron’s ever-watching eye

“A giant, lidless eye that never sleeps, ever watchful” that is how Sauron’s surveillance system was described in the Lord of the Rings.  And it’s the image that comes to my mind whenever someone advises me to flee the encroaching technofascism in the US.

Time and again people say to me, “Flee the U.S. fascist state before it comes crashing down around you.  Seek safe haven in the Philippines, New Zealand, etc. (insert your favorite paradise of choice)”  I’ll admit that whenever I hear about what’s happening in airports and cities across the country, I’m very tempted to seek greener pastures in some far off promised land but, unfortunately, after I do a bit of research, I always come to the same horrifying conclusion: the days of fleeing to somewhere “outside” the technofascist system are, alas, no more.

I have one friend who insists that the Philippines is the last bastion of freedom on this small, crowded planet: it’s cheap to live, the people speak English and, he asserts, it’s undeveloped enough to remain outside the gaze of over-zealous technocrats.  When I first heard his enthusiastic endorsement for that distant land of sunshine and tropical beaches, I thought, well, maybe he’s right.  Surely, they won’t be setting up a remote CCTV network to monitor people in a small city in the Philippines.  Surely, this was a place that was impervious to Sauron’s gaze.  Unfortunately, it was only a short time later that I discovered that Davao city had already established an Orwellian surveillance command center that looks like something right out of the US or the UK or Mordor for that matter.  Other cities, like Legazpi, were quickly following the sinister path Davao had taken.  So much for the Philippines.

I have another friend who lives in and recommends New Zealand.  Also, a very tempting possibility.  But just recently, I read that “Prime Minister John Key … announced a new Securities Intelligence Service (SIS) Bill to allow the government agency wider surveillance powers.” [ref]  And, the Mayor of Auckland is currently pushing for more CCTV cameras. [ref]  And, of course, New Zealand, unlike the Philippines is part of the “developed” world.  If the busy little beavers in their government want to kick up the Brave New World program a notch, they certainly can proceed faster than the relatively more primitive and “backwards” Philippines.

Considering all of this, I began to think that maybe it was just cities that were under Sauron’s watch.  I’ve met a few people that have hope they can escape the emerging techno-control grid by bugging out to some remote wilderness area and living off the land.  Many so-called “primitivists” advocate this strategy: basically living a hunter-gatherer lifestyle outside the reach of Big Brother.  I thought possibly there might be something to this.  Of course, it’s difficult to find information about anyone that has actually lived this lifestyle–most “primitivists” I’ve run into are more of the armchair variety and spend most of their time convincing other people to adopt a primitivist lifetyle.  However, I did manage to find a few recent cases where someone actually pulled it off… or so they thought.  Here’s how primitivist Brent Ladd describes his attempt:

Modern society [...] always seems to be just over the ridge.  It is impossible to hide from its ever searching eye and I am often humming Greg Brown’s song “Ain’t there no place away….” I can’t put my finger on it exactly, but fear and misinformation has bred a gargantuate monster of regulations, laws and codes that can be aggravating to the would-be primitive. I’ve already spoken of hunting/trapping limitations with DNR officials who are armed to the teeth. I may be a bit paranoid, but after we had built our lodges, it seemed that air traffic directly over our shelters picked up immensely. Maybe just intrigued pilots or maybe some surveillance by government officials? Several times we’ve had groups of F-16 fighter jets storm the tree tops above our lodges.

It is not only being watched and the hunting regulations that aggravate me, but there is also the issue of housing codes and zoning nightmares. Social Services once threatened friends of mine who were residing in a wigwam with their children that the children would be taken away unless they were in a house that met zoning codes. This meant they had to have tar paper on the roof, a wooden floor, no open fire, and a thing called a “rat wall.” [ref.]

When a man can’t put a simple roof over his head, trap and hunt game, grow food, defecate in a hole and raise and educate children without fending off an endless onslaught of permits, fees, licenses and hordes of heavily armed orcs, he is already living in Mordor and there truly is nowhere to hide from Sauron’s ever-watchful gaze.  Others may flee if they must, but as for me, here in Mordor, where the shadows lie, I will make my stand.

If he neither sleeps, nor slumbers he must be pretty tired by now and certainly seen it all before.

It’s fear that’s preached, which there’s no need to indulge in. Act in ways you’re not ashamed of and then you don’t need to hide.

So wanting privacy means you have something to hide. Stop your fallacies, and use logic and reason for once.

Spoken by a true zombie! You obviously are no truth seeker. I bet you are OK with them going through your garbage, because you don’t break the law. I bet you are OK with terahertz scanners because you don’t travel anyways. You’re OK with them teaching your kids to spy on you? Oh you don’t have any kids, right. You don’t worry about stupid things like net neutrality because you are already neutral! I bet you want Assange assassinated too just because everyone does!

I’m so tired of being polite and nice to people like you. I frickin’ hate trolls more than possible! You, my enemy, are totally retarded!

Oh yeah! While I’m here, if I don’t bite the head off the next troll, GREAT JOB of the post. Nail on the head! Keep up the good work! I liked the analogy of the rings. Keep up the good fight – and don’t put up with the negativity anymore! My new years resolution!

New Zealand is a fascist state – its full name is still
    The New Zealand Company

Wikipedia; The New Zealand Company originated in 1839 in London with the aim of promoting the “systematic” colonisation of New Zealand.

Bolivia and Democratic Republic of Congo, are few remaining places where you can still live free. Other such places are the vast wildernesses of Siberia, Sahara, Somalia, Canada, Brazil, Angola, etc. where the society isn’t organized enough to spy on each village. Then there’s always the Western Antarctica, which belongs to no one.

if you are watching everything all the time. is very easy to get completely confused.. especially if thats the aim of the population.. (:
imagen some one juggling and he has to make predictions of all the things he is juggling with. but he does not know he is holding more objects in the air than he thinks. he noticed something is wrong. and tries to look where those objects are.. he is not aware of the other things, and let them fall and everything comes falling down on him. especially if he wants more and more control over more and more things he has in the air.

they do not understand that the great god in the sky is them selfs. they do not understand that god is everything no exception ever.. they are ants looking up on an anthill. building there hierarchical system to reach the god in the sky…

    they are fools.

Considering the Saturian cult agenda is so rampant, there are plasma storms on Saturn right now, and good old Jehovah/Satan/Great Architect is so revered by the jackasses in power, it’s highly telling that they are so obsessed with surveillance.

Yet this EYE is within ALL of us, and anyone who is WISE can live a life of Joy in Sauron’s blind spot.

Who dares look directly into the Eye in the Triangle but One who has LOOKED INWARD?

paraguay, most of uruguay, lots of argentina, bolivia and peru. all of which are very free. parts of argentina use their own currency. western media does not like the fact that the anglo empire got ther butts kicked out of the continent. the only place with some yankees left in it is columbia. there are no cameras, the bureaucracy still works on paper, not many computers used. during the riots and shutdown in 08 cristina kirchner tried to send the national police in to cordoba to break the roadblocks, and the police in cordoba said that they would hold the roadblocks with the farmers. police were never sent in. the government in most of these countries has no real power outside of the capital federal. don’t let the man tell you he has the world locked down, it’s a f&^@ing lie.

the idea of escape is usually a stripped down version of the comforts and expectations that people are used to in the society they are attempting to flee. a myth created by the society they abhor. the ultimate tragedy of these people trying run away is that they are seeking an imaginary bill of goods they have been sold by the system they despise. swindled and don’t even know it.

a life on the fringes requires adjustment of the naive ideas of what life outside the mainstream of society really entails. it’s a frenzied existence, a constant battle with a society as openly hostile to you as you are to it.

Manley P. Hall was not “Illuminati”. He saw the big picture and only tried to explain it as fully as he understood it, ie. thru symbolism like all past sages have done. If one spends enough time in Nature with reflection it’s not so hard to grasp.

The ever watchful Eye needs lots of resources to keep its unblinking gaze. Those resources ever diminishing will eventually put the Eye to sleep for good, hopefully. In the meantime….stay vigilant and keep poking it with a stick!

    • Eudoxia says:

Lee Harvey – I completely agree with you on Manly Palmer Hall. He was pure genius and explained the esoteric systems of enlightenment well in his book The Secret Teachings of All Ages. Anybody who accuses Manly P Hall of being illuminati is delusional. The so called “Illuminati” is a religious scam. Religion must, like government, always invent new enemies. Yes we are run by a global elite caste of evil minded parasites consisting of all types and denominations. However, these people do not belong to secret societies per say as there are no secret societies anymore. The secret societies of old rose out of neccesity in order to escape the inquisition in its true Priest of Ori style attempt to abolish any form of teaching that did not meet strict adherence to church dogma which is still preached today. People who are not versed in symbolism are Suaron fodder. In my opinion the so called Antichrist is religion itself = re-legion. If you look in the dictionary you will find that the meaning of legion is a division of the Roman Army. This current Age of Pisces has been one of the darkest ages in history which goes back for much longer than religions define as 6K years. What a bunch of tosh. We are in between Ages now and I for one can’t wait to see the end of the evil eye forever. Bring on the Age of Aquarius.

He can still put a bullet in his own head, I guess.

Won’t be long before even that option is taken.

Unless of course, for some reason, the state approves.

Like maybe for an organ harvest.

  10. Endurion says:

“He neither slumbers, nor sleeps”… yeah, well Manly Hall clearly took those ideas from the Bible where David says in Psalm 121:

“Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”

As Celeborn said, “But whether they stay or go, none can be sure of peace. For we are come now to the edge of doom.”

  12. Noble says:

It’s only a matter of time before The Great Eye turns its gaze to every corner of the earth. It’s up to people of all lands to fight back.

The description of Sauron (I’m a LOTR reader since childhood) you mentioned always reminds me of a passage from Manly Hall’s “Secret Teachings of All Ages”:

“Of the Immortal Man it should be said that He is hermaphrodite, or male and female, and eternally watchful. He neither slumbers nor sleeps, and is governed by a Father who is also both male and female, and ever watchful.”

Tolkien was (supposedly) a member of the Golden Dawn, so the connection is not as far-fetched as one might think.
